TradeLog™ Now Supports Windows Regional Settings

by David N. Eich - August 15, 2007

Armen Computing Ltd. today released a major update of their TradeLog™ trade and tax lot accounting software which fully supports the Microsoft Windows Regional settings for both Windows XP and Vista.

TradeLog™ software users who reside in locations other than the US can now use their current Windows regional and language settings with no need to change to the English (United States) settings. The two settings which previously caused problems for our users were the Windows short date and currency formats.

Some locales around the world use date formats with the day followed by the year or the year followed by the month and day. But there are many other combinations used throughout the world. The same is true for currency settings. Some locales use various combinations of negative signs, thousands separators, and decimal point characters other than what is common here in the US.

With this release our users can use whatever settings they are most comfortable with and which is standard for their locale.

The base currency for most brokers supported by TradeLog remains in US dollars.  However, Interactive Brokers offers accounts in base currencies other than US dollars, such as Euros, British Pounds, and the like, and this update will allow our non-US users to view their profit and loss amounts in whatever base currency their account may be in.

This release will further allow us to develop imports for other brokerages who offer trading accounts in base currencies other than the almighty US dollar.
